Proving the Possible!

Yesterday, the State of Tennessee issued the list of Reward Schools (top 5%) and included on this list is Cameron College Prep (CCP). CCP is the first zoned enrollment conversion school in state history and the only district/charter transformation partnership on the entire list.

Three years ago, LEAD Public Schools partnered with MNPS to transform Cameron Middle School into Cameron College Prep (CCP).  This was bold, ambitious work to transform a school that had been historically one of the lowest performing in the state and commit to converting it back into a high performing neighborhood school serving a zoned enrollment population.  Today, we are honored to report that CCP is one of the top 5% of schools statewide in overall progress.

On a network wide basis, LEAD Public Schools had the best academic year in our history, proving that we are getting better as we get bigger.

LEAD Academy, our original campus, outperformed the state on 5 of 7 EOC exams. Additionally, LEAD Academy graduated its first class of seniors and 100% were accepted to a 4 year college.  You can view the video of our Senior Signing Day ceremony here:

Cameron College Prep, in addition to being recognized as a top 5% Reward School, had the highest growth index across all grades in math in the entire state of Tennessee.  Number 1 out of 1,348 schools.

Brick Church College Prep, modeled on the Cameron transformation, and launched in a unique partnership with the Achievement School District and MNPS, showed the largest gains in the entire ASD. In just two years Brick Church College Prep has moved from a bottom 5% school to being on track to become a top quartile school in 5 years or less.

LEAD Prep Southeast, our newest campus, completed its first year and exceeded the MNPS averages for TCAP proficiency in all content areas.
